Konkani popular monthly ‘Kutmacho Sevak’ organized a get-together for the Konkani writers at St Anne’s Friary Mini hall – Bejai, on 15th November 2019 at 6.00 pm. It organized this event in preparation for the Sevak Diamond Jubilee celebration to be held on 22nd of December 2019.

The evenings get together commenced with a Konkani Hymn after which Fr Paul Melwyn, the administrator of Sevak welcomed the gathering. Fr Prakash Lobo, the editor of Sevak shared a brief history of Sevak Magazine and its journey of 60 years in the lives of the Konkani Christian community.

Mr Stephen Henry Mascarenhas (HeMachari), the editor of the DaijiWorld weekly was the chief guest for this get-together who enlightened the gathering through a talk on ‘Media and Social Responsibility’. Fr Chethan Capuchin who introduced him earlier also moderated the interaction session after the talk.

Two of the former editors namely Fr VJ Menezes and Fr Rupert were felicitated and two of the writers who have continuously contributed to Sevak, namely EdiNetto and Judy Bai were also felicitated for their great service to Sevak.

During this occasion, two books were released namely ‘Nishani’ by Maxi Kelarai and ‘Kanna Gallo Monna’ by Br Juniper (Fr Freddy, Capuchin).

Fr Jawahar compered the program. Sumptuous dinner was served at the end.
